If you want to look your absolute best, your outfit should match the shape of your body and that can sometimes be easier said than done for many women.

Apple- an apple-shaped body is generally considered as top-heavy. If your bust is three inches bigger or more than your hips, you have an apple-shaped body. It’s recommended to choose tunics, ruched tops, or layered tops, while avoiding clingy silhouettes, bulky tops, and double-breasted jackets. Another ideal choice is boot cut pants that have back pockets.
Pear- also known as triangle body shape, pear-shaped body women have a bottom-heavy appearance, with more noticeable buttocks, thighs, and hips. Women can highlight their narrow shoulders by wearing colourful necklaces, pashminas, or scarves. Dresses should be patterned and a little bit more embellished. A-line skirts and flared pants are also good options. Pencil skirts, short skirts, and capri pants should be avoided. For petite pear-shaped women, classic trousers and bootcuts could elongate their form.
Rectangular- women with a rectangular body shape have more balanced bust, hips, and waist. They are not as curvy as women with apple- or pear-shaped bodies and they should create an illusion of curves. If their waist is quite narrow, women may wear a belt. Pleated or ruffled tops could enhance their bust line and shoulders. Less curvy women may wear skirts, dresses, tops, and peplum jackets to create an illusion of an hourglass-body shape. Slender women should wear flowy outerwear, bomber jackets, dusters and peacoats to have a more structured and fitted style.
Hourglass- an hourglass shape is curvier than apple-shaped, pear-shaped, and rectangular bodies. Women with this body shape have wider-looking shoulders, a narrow waist, and a fuller bottom. It doesn’t take much effort to highlight hourglass curves, but women still need take focus on their waist. It is recommended to avoid baggy clothing, because it could draw the focus away from your waist. Boxy designs won’t do natural curves justice, because they may negate the slender part of the body. Cropped silhouettes, fitted blazers, and a classic trench should look quite amazing on hourglass-shaped body.
